Tajikistan

Tajikistan is a mountainous Central Asian nation with a developing economy, abundant hydropower resources, and a strategic position in the Pamir and Fergana mountain regions. Its economy is primarily supported by agriculture, hydropower generation, mining, and remittances, while industrial development and regulatory systems are gradually expanding.

To support economic growth, trade facilitation, and infrastructure development, Tajikistan is progressively strengthening its national conformity assessment framework. This includes systems for accreditation, certification, inspection, laboratory testing, product conformity evaluation, and environmental and greenhouse gas (GHG) verification activities.

The country’s quality infrastructure is aligned with internationally recognized ISO standards, including ISO/IEC 17011, ISO/IEC 17020, ISO/IEC 17021, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO/IEC 17065, and ISO 14064. These standards provide the foundation for ensuring competence, reliability, and transparency in conformity assessment activities.
